Our line of spring Nesting Materials consists of:
1) Corn Quicklock trays-stacked to make 30 or 72 holes. These are interlocking pieces that fit together and are stackable. The material used is a natural Corn material (75%). The smaller stack of 30 fits into the Lodge / Chalet / Royal and the 72′s fit into the largest home, the Highrise
2) Ezy-Harvest cardboard nesting tubes can be bundled to fit in all homes. This new product has the paper aligned which makes it easier to open and harvest cocoons in the fall. It is available in 6″ length. The shorter 4.5″ tube is less expensive and is made of the regular type nesting tubes. Once these tubes have been used and opened up in the fall, they are repalced with new tubes.
- Natural Phragmites Reeds can be bundled to fit in all homes. These are a favourate natural product and are very easy to open for fall harvesting of bee cocoons. Just squeeze at one end and the reed cracks. This is a new product and we always seem to be in short supply. Order early.

Easily stackable modular design
These rugged nesting trays are made of environmentally friendly rugged corn material, and stack to create 30 nesting tunnels. Just the right number to start your Mason Bee population.

Corn material is a environmentally friendly alternative to plastic. Corn is a renewable resource and corn is a sustainable product.
Note the varied colour of the trays. Unlike Honeybees, each Mason Bee nests in its own tunnel. Mason bees use colour to find their nests readily and reliably. The coloured trays help keep bees at home and increase pollination in your garden.
Our Quicklock nesting trays have matching, routered grooves. When paired and stacked, the trays form nesting tunnels 7.5 mm or 5/16 of an inch in diameter – the optimum size bees prefer. The stacking design makes cleaning and harvesting a snap. In the fall, simply pop the trays apart and gently slide the cocoons out of the exposed grooves with our Bee Scoop.
The Quicklock Corn Nesting trays are designed to slide into BeeDiverse Mason Bee Houses

902.100 Ezy-Harvest Tubes 6″ (100)
Ezy to set up and Ezy to harvest!
Cardboard nesting tubes are attractive to mason bees and are a good way of starting with and keeping Mason Bees. Nesting tubes are ready for spring mason bees that are looking for suitable nesting material.
DIRECTIONS: Set tubes into a dark water-proof container to protect them from rain and direct sun. Fix container onto a sunny wall of a house or shed before spring blossoms are in bloom. When wild mason bees are in the vicinity they search for suitable nesting material such as cardboard nesting tubes or nesting holes created from stackable Quicklock corn trays also available from Beediverse products.
Cardboard is 100% recyclable paper. Tubes are a one-time item. Once a mason bee uses the tube as a nest, dirt and parasites decreases the livability of the nesting tube. Unoccupied tubes are re-useable.
DIRECTIONS FOR HARVESTING COCOONS: In the fall (Oct-Dec) simply unfurl tubes, gather, wash and store hibernating mason bee cocoons. Use the Beediverse ‘Bee Cocoon Shelter’ to safely emerge these bees.
Includes:
- 100 Ezy-Harvest cardboard tubes closed at one end
